Event Details

Journey into the beautiful and tranquil countryside of Mississippi for the 2009 Denbury Resources Bike MS ride.  We have three routes this year 35 miles, 75 miles and 150 miles.  On Friday, October 9 from 4-7pm there will be an early packet pick up party at the Clinton Healthplex.  Saturday morning the fun begins at the Healthplex at 6:30 am with donuts and juice.  Last minute registration is from 6:30 until 7:30.  Team photos will be from 7:00 until 7:45.  Everyone should be in line at 7:45 for a safety talk from the Highway Patrol, the signing of the National Anthem and a prayer.  The Ride begins promptly at 8am.   Cyclists will leave the Clinton Healthplex and ride to historic Vicksburg, on the beautiful backroads of Mississippi with a lunch stop in Learned. 

Fun rest stops await you every 10-12 miles. Highway Patrol will be on the entire route for safety.  Relaxing massage are available at the Battlefield Inn in Vicksburg and refreshments and entertainment will be available at the pool party.  Rest up for a while before our 2009 Denbury Resources BIKE MS Victory Party and Awards Banquet fit for a winner.  It will be complete with great food, good times and prizes. 

Rise and shine on Sunday to a morning devotional (optional) and a hearty breakfast.  Then enjoy your return trip to Clinton in the serenity of Warren and Hinds County along the famous Natchez Trace.  The lunch stop will be at Rocky Springs.  SAG vehicles will be available if you need to stop at any time during the ride and bike mechanics will also be on the route both days. 

End your cycling day where your experience began at the Baptist Healthplex in Clinton - and enjoy the end of the road refreshments and a long hot shower.  Then let the 2009 Bike MS cycling stories begin!
